Notre Dame Football Players took time out of their busy schedules on game week to spend some time with young kids at a local pre-school. Senior Captain Offensive Lineman Zack Martin and Senior Linebacker Dan Fox visited the Early Childhood Development Center, located on the University of Notre Dame’s campus.
While preparing for the Shamrock Series game this Saturday vs. Arizona State, the players made it a priority to go over and spend time with the students at ECDC. Martin and Fox took a helmet, cleats, gloves, shoulder pads, and pants over to the classroom and explained the purpose of all the different equipment to the entire class.
The students were very excited and curious; they asked many different questions from how to wear the helmet, how much running is involved, to how far the players have to travel for games. At the end of the lesson taught by Martin and Fox, they quizzed the class, and the first student to answer correct won some gloves, pictured below. The players also gave all the students Irish Around the Bend t-shirts, pencils, and miniature footballs. At the conclusion of the event, the students took pictures with the players and thanked them for coming.
